Tutorial (step by step) How to flash LG KP500 - cookie

In this tutorial you will see how to flash lg cookie with new firmware.

1.) BACKUP
- First off all you should make a backup of your phone files (contacts, messages ...) because after flashing, all the files saved on the phone will be erased. I recommend that you use LG PC SuiteII.
- Dont forget to unplug your phone.

2.)DOWNLOAD GSMULTI AND FIRMWARE
FIRMWARE LG KP500 KP500AT-00-V10n-DEC-17-2008 (v10N) NEW!

3.)INSTALL THE SOFTWARE AND DRIVERS - DRIVERS WORKS ONLY ON XP WINDOWS
(Don't connect your phone on computer yet)

Downloaded files should be un-ziped (I unziped them in one folder which i made it on desktop)

You got next files:
program
- SETUP_GSMULTI_V30
- KP500_081002.dll

firmware
- KP500AT-00-V10n-CIS-XXX-DEC-17-2008
- KP500AT-00-V10n-CIS-XXX-DEC-17-2008.bin.mbn

3.1.) Install GSMULTI (SETUP_GSMULTI_V30). The icon will shows on your desktop otherwise the program install on C disk, folder GSMULTI
- start GSMULTI
- select: Settings/Configuration


- put .dll file and firmware file in and choose USB then click OK and close program


3.2.)Install DRIVERS (INFINEON and TI_NEPTUNE)
Drivers to be found in install folder of GSMMULTI program. My path is C:\GSMULTI\UsbDrivers


- First install INFINEON
- Second TI_NEPTUNE

4.) PREPARE AND CONNECT YOUR PHONE

- Now u take a phone (shut it down) and remove, BATTERY, SIM CARD and MEMORY CARD then
- conect it with your USB cable to computer (I suggest that u connect only in one USB port on computer)
- wait about one minute that comuputer recognize new device


5.) USBMap PROGRAM
- Run program USBMap_V01 (which can be found in C:\GSMULTI)
- Select INFINEON and then click MAPPING START


-WAIT (about one minute) that USBMAP will find USB port where is the phone connected
- When the port will be found click on (select it) and press SAVE&EXIT


6.)MAIN PART
- FLASHING
- Run GSMULTI program (shourtcut is in your desktop)
- Check if settings/configuration are the same like we set it before (otherwise look step 3.1.)


- Now its everything ready to start flashing
- Check MODEL and SW VERSION and if that is correct just click START and wait until the program finished


- And voila, here we have a new firmware version


That's it.

Sprint HTC Arrive Soft /Hard Reset**** Format Factory Settings

But the tweaking may end up if you decide to sell or give to others your HTC Arrive and buy a new phone. And you want to restore the settings to its original default settings so that all of your files and personal information cleared from memory..



Here's a steps on how to hard reset your HTC Arrive:

1. On the home screen**** swipe left to expose your app list
2. Tap Settings
3. Scroll down and tap about

4. Tap reset your phone
5. Tap yes to confirm**** then tap yes to confirm again

The phone will then reboot and return with a factory fresh settings.

HTC Salsa Hard Reset**** Format to Factory Default Settings

Please Note: Performing this procedure will delete all data stored from the HTC Salsa. The data stored on the microSD memory card may or may not be deleted . We advice to back up all of important personal data before proceeding.

HTC Salsa Factory Reset through Menu Settings



1. From the main home screen**** Tap menu
2. Tap Settings**** then Privacy
3. Tap Factory data reset
4. Tap Reset phone
5. Enter the password if prompted**** then select Erase everything to continue

If the HTC Salsa is frozen**** do a hard reset by way of button combination.

1. If the device is frozen****turn the phone's power off. remove the battery out and reinsert it in back again
2. Press and Hold the Volume Down button
3. Press and hold the Power button until the device turns on
4. A menu will then appear that let you choose for Fastbook**** Recovery**** Clear Storage**** and Simlock
5. Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
6. Press and then release the Power button
7. Then confirm**** press Volume Up for YES and press Volume Down for NO

Once the the wipe completes**** the phone will reboot to its factory default state settings. All data stored including third-party applications has been deleted from the Salsa . You need to reinstall third-party application again.
